Save a YouTube video in three steps

Which formats and resolutions are available?

Nabbly reads the format list straight from the video. For a typical video, 360p and 720p are available as ready-made files; 1080p, 1440p, 4K and occasionally 8K are only delivered by YouTube as separate streams, which Nabbly merges for you. The output is always an MP4 file with H.264 or AV1 video and AAC audio that plays on phones, TVs and in any editing software.

If you only need the sound, the YouTube to MP3 page is the better route: there the audio track is saved directly as MP3 or M4A without a large video file being produced.

Limits and notes

Nabbly does not download playlists, channels or live streams, nor content that is marked private, age-restricted with login or protected by DRM. Very long videos in 4K can exceed the maximum file size; choose a lower resolution in that case. YouTube occasionally blocks requests from servers for a while – trying again later usually helps.

Only download videos you hold the rights to or whose creator permits downloading. Many channels publish material under a Creative Commons licence; you can tell by the note below the video.
