Saving reels on iPhone and Android

Nabbly runs in the browser, so it works on a smartphone without an extra app. On iOS the MP4 file lands in the Files app after downloading; from there you can move it to the Photos app. On Android it sits in the downloads folder and appears in the gallery. If you save many reels, the fastest way is to copy the link straight from the Instagram app and then switch to Nabbly.

The audio track of a reel is often a licensed song. Nabbly can save it as MP3, but using it outside a private setting requires a licence from the rights holder.

Limits

Nabbly cannot download reels from private profiles or reels visible only to close friends. Reels that the creator has locked against downloading are in some cases still delivered publicly by Instagram; whether a download is possible is shown by Nabbly after you paste the link. Remix chains are treated as a single reel; the original reel has to be downloaded separately.

As everywhere: only download reels you created yourself or whose creator has permitted downloading.
