Accessibility Statement
Digitmedia e.K. is committed to making Nabbly accessible in accordance with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) and the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0). This statement describes how far we have come, where gaps remain and how you can report barriers to us.
1. Scope
This statement applies to the website www.nabbly.de in its German and English language versions, including the downloader and all subpages. It does not apply to the YouTube and Instagram platforms or to the content published there that is retrieved via Nabbly.
2. Compliance status
Nabbly is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA and the requirements of EN 301 549 based on them. The content listed in section 3 is not accessible or only accessible to a limited extent.
Among other things, the following has been implemented:
- full keyboard operability, a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the content,
- semantic structure with one main heading per page, landmarks and labelled controls,
- sufficient colour contrast (at least 4.5:1 for text) in both the light and dark colour scheme,
- status messages of the downloader are announced to screen readers via a live region,
- no auto-playing media, no flashing content; animations are disabled when reduced motion is enabled,
- text resizing up to 200 % and reflow at 320 px width without loss of information,
- language identification of the page (lang attribute) for each language version.
3. Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
a) Third-party content from the platforms
Thumbnails, titles and descriptions originate from YouTube or Instagram. Nabbly displays thumbnails with a generic alternative text ("Thumbnail for …" followed by the title of the post) but cannot describe the image content because the platforms do not provide any information for this. Titles and descriptions are taken over unchanged and may contain emojis, capitalisation or passages in other languages that screen readers do not read out optimally.
b) Downloaded media files
Videos, audio tracks and images are provided as delivered by the platforms. Subtitles, audio descriptions or transcripts are not included, even if they are available on the platform. Nabbly cannot generate such alternatives.
c) Progress indicator
The progress of a download is shown as a percentage and a bar. For very fast jobs, status messages may change in quick succession; screen readers then only read out the most recent message.
d) Disproportionate burden
We are currently not invoking a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the BFSG. The limitations mentioned concern third-party content over which we have no control, or are being improved continuously.
4. Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 21 September 2026. It is based on a self-assessment by Digitmedia e.K. against WCAG 2.1 (level AA) and BITV 2.0; development is accompanied by manual checks with keyboard and screen reader as well as automated testing tools. An audit by an external body has not yet taken place. We review the statement at least once a year and whenever the service changes significantly.
5. Feedback and contact
Have you noticed any shortcomings in the accessibility of Nabbly? Or do you need information in another format that is accessible to you? Then write to us or call us. We usually respond within two weeks.

6. Enforcement procedure and market surveillance
If you believe that Nabbly does not meet the accessibility requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and you have not received a satisfactory response to your feedback to us, you can contact the competent market surveillance authority. For services under the BFSG, this is the Market Surveillance Authority of the German Federal States for the Accessibility of Products and Services (Marktüberwachungsstelle der Länder für die Barrierefreiheit von Produkten und Dienstleistungen, MLBF).
You can reach the MLBF via its website www.mlbf.de, where you will find a complaint form and the current contact options. The market surveillance authority checks whether the requirements are being met and can order measures against the provider. Independently of this, consumers and recognised associations may apply for proceedings before the market surveillance authority under the BFSG.
